It is inspired by “The Gift of The Magi” by O’ Henry, “Raincoat” by Rituparno Ghosh, “Bhanga Chora” by Zahir Raihan and some true stories of jute mill worker leader Shahid Tajul Islam, who demanded justice for workers in our country.

Prem Puran, also known in English as Myth of Love: A Known Story) is a 2019 Bangladeshi drama short film scripted and directed by Zahid Gogon under the Film Mistry’s banner. The film stars Manoj Pramanik as a government education officer and Samia Othoi as Shanu, who leaves the luxury of the big city for her extremely Idealist lover.

তরুণ নির্মাতা হিসেবে চার বছর আগে ‘তারেক মাসুদ ইয়াং ফিল্ম মেকার অ্যাওয়ার্ড’ অর্জন করেন জাহিদ গগন। চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাতা তারেক মাসুদের জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত সেই উৎসবে স্বল্পদৈর্ঘ্য চলচ্চিত্র হিসেবে প্রথম পুরস্কার জিতে নেয় জাহিদ গগনের ‘আ বুক বিহাইন্ড দ্য সুজ’। চার বছর পর আবার একটি স্বল্পদৈর্ঘ্য চলচ্চিত্র বানাতে যাচ্ছেন গগন। ‘প্রেম পুরাণ’ নামের এই সিনেমার শুটিং শুরু হচ্ছে আগামী ডিসেম্বরে।
